Trakkers is offering one weekend trip for our members this coming winter.

Blue Spruce Cottages are reserved for Trakkers for nights of Friday, Feb 7 and Saturday, Feb 8, 2025.

Five cottages are reserved for a total of 24 guests. 

Cost is $190 pp for members, $200 for guests of participating members.

Blue Spruce Cottages are located east of Huntsville, on hwy 60.  Algonquin Park is a little further east.

All cottages are well kept and well equipped.  There is a fully equipped kitchen. Bedding and ample towels are provided.  The 3 bedroom cottages have two bathrooms and the 2 bedroom cottages have one bathroom.  All have some single beds.

All have a nice living room area, and wood fireplace with one starter log.  Propane BBQ outside.

Blue Spruce Resort has its own well-groomed and track-set trail system (classic).  They have an ice Skating rink out on the lake (cleared, flooded and lit), and toboggan run.

At Algonquin Park, they have an excellent trail system, groomed and track set, which is all never too busy. Part way around the West Gate trails, they have a heated cabin for your lunch.  Snowshoeing, anywhere you like.

Arrowhead Provincial Park (the ONLY place up there for skate-skiing) is near Huntsville and restaurants are around there, too.

Check the Provincial Park system ahead of time as they have an online registration protocol, to be paid ahead of time. When you sign up for this weekend, you’ll be provided with all the information you’ll need.

Ski or snowshoe rental is available across the street from Blue Spruce at the Algonquin Outfitters (also in Arrowhead Park, if you go there).

Participants OFTEN take the whole Friday off, so check with your ride.

Please NOTE that it’s best to reserve your spot before Jan 10, 2024, as cottages will need to be removed by then, according to Blue Spruce policy. Check after this date, as there still may be something available or someone may need to cancel.

Chilcoot Lodge

Accommodation available are Standard Hotel Rooms, 1-Bedroom Queen Suites and 1-Bedroom King Suites.

The Chilcoot Lodge has a total of 34 guest rooms & suites and is also ski-in/out, located in the heart of the village. There is a central check-in at Vance Creek Hotel if you are staying at Chilcoot. Amenities include 2 outdoor hot tubs, heated ski lockers, on-site guest coin laundry facilities, free wifi, plus 2 restaurants and a Saloon in the Vance Creek Hotel.

If any of the group members book their own air independently, they will be responsible for finding their own way to the resort and back to the airport unless their flights coincide with the group transfers.

Travel Identification: Canadian Citizens: Travel within Canada – valid government issued PHOTO ID is a requirement to board all aircraft.

Cancellation Policy: 

All payments, including deposits, fees and balance of payment, are non-refundable. If you cancel and a replacement is found, you will be refunded the amount paid less any non-refundable fees. If the trip is cancelled due to insufficient numbers by Nov.29, your deposit will be fully refunded.

Travel Insurance: 

Skican strongly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation insurance to protect non-refundable deposits and payments in the event participants are forced to cancel their vacation for medical reasons.

Non-Refundable Fees not included in standard package: 

Cancellation of the trip for any reason results in the forfeiture of the following fees which are not included in the standard trip package:

• Insurance Premiums
• Substitutions or name changes within 45 days of departure - $175.00 per change.
• An administration fee of $50.00 per person for air deviations from group blocked air.
• An administration fee of $75.00 per person for airline ticket name corrections.
