For the coming winter Trakkers is offering two weekends, one up near Collingwood, the other near the East Gate of Algonquin Park.  Spaces are still available for both Weekends.  Please inquire to the Weekends Organizer.  See instructions below.

Also, a longer weekend bus trip to Quebec has been kindly offered by the Bruce Trail club.  Apply direct to the Bruce Trail Club for this special invitation to Trakkers Members.  They are taking applications at this moment.

January 24-26 (Friday/Saturday nights)

Woolner House, Highland’s Nordic (about 22km south of Collingwood)

Price (for both nights), $85pp in shared rooms, 3 beds in the loft at $75.

Dorm style, in total, 3 to max 4 per room, for a total of 15 people.  Bedding, pillows and towels are provided.

Large common rooms, two fully equipped kitchens, 4 washrooms, two showers, small Sauna, fireplace wood stove.

Skiing or snowshoeing right outside the door, connecting to the Highland’s Nordic trail system.  Trakkers group rate for trail fees (you purchase at Ski Clubhouse). Ski or snowshoe rental is available at the Highland’s Nordic Clubhouse.

Bring your own food.  Country House restaurant nearby for dinner Saturday night.  The w/e organizer will make reservations for those interested.

Often participants will take at least the Friday afternoon off, so check with your ride.

February 7-9 (Friday/Saturday nights)

Blue Spruce Cottages, near West Gate, Algonquin Park, Hwy 60

Price (for both nights), $155pp

Rooms, max 2 per room.

Trakkers has reserved 2 and 3 bedroom cottages, four in total, for 21 people.  All are provided with bedding and towels.

Fully equipped kitchen in each cottage, with 2 bathrooms in the 3 bedroom cottages.

All have a nice living room area, and wood fireplace.  BBQ outside.

Resort has their own well-groomed and track-set trail system, skating (cleared, flooded, and lit, on the lake), and toboggan run.  Also have a games room.

They sell a special day pass for the Algonquin park trails for only $10/carload.  Excellent trail system, groomed and track set, which is all never too busy. Part way around the West Gate trails, they have a heated cabin for your lunch.  Snowshoeing, anywhere you like. Arrowhead Park is near Huntsville and restaurants are around there, too.

Ski or snowshoe rental is available across the street at the Algonquin Outfitters (also in Arrowhead, if you go there).

Often participants will take the whole Friday off, so check with your ride.

Instructions and additional details for Trakkers Weekend trips

Always write to the Turn on JavaScript!.  Supplying your phone number would be best, so the Organiser can call you back to explain each weekend in detail, along with availability and sleeping arrangements.

If your interested, the Organizer will forward you the required application form.  Once your application form has been processed, the Organizer will instruct you to pay online, by credit card or debit, via your member login.

Even if it’s full, it’s worth it to leave your name, as people might have to cancel.

Car pooling is used to get to both destinations, but NOT supplied by Trakkers.  You will be using a carshare app for this. Drivers carrying passengers, will need adequate Third Party Liability Insurance

March 6-9 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday night)

Val-David, Quebec (Organized by the Toronto Bruce Trail Club)

The Toronto Bruce Trail Club is returning to Val-David, Quebec. Join us from Friday March 6 to Monday March 9, 2020. Spend your days exploring the beautiful Laurentians on foot or skis, and spend your evenings enjoying great food and ambiance at the Auberge du Vieux Foyer. We are adding something new. We might spend a day on the awesome trails in nearby Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts or Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides.
